Minister Wendell Jones

Minister Wendell Jones was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he received his diploma at Overbrook High School in the Philadelphia School District.  Minister Jones received Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of twelve.  As years went on he took heed to his calling as a preacher of the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.  He pursued his calling by entering into "The Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary" where he received his diploma in Christian Studies in 1999.  In 1999 he was ordained as a deacon at the "Word of Life Ministries" under Pastor Angelo Williams, Sr.  

On November 29, 2002 Minister Jones preached his trial sermon and gave evidence to his calling as a licensed preacher.  He then entered into the "Jameson Evangelistic School for the bible in 2003. Minister Jones furthered his education by entering in the "Center of Urban Theological Studies", where he received his associate degree in biblical studies.

Minister Jones worked with the youth at his previous church and was involved with the Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Mentor's Association.

The Lord led Minister Jones to First African Baptist Church of Darby Township under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Richard A. Dent, Pastor.  Minister Jones is currently working with the Youth Discipleship Class, Saturday Bible Study and the B.R.O.T.H.E.R's Mentoring Program at First African.

Minister Jones has three children, Shanyra, Kadia and Whitney Jones.  His life verse is found in Philippians 1:6, "Being confident of this very thing, that He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ."
